The Sony KDL-40ZX1 Bravia is the Slimmest TV in the World

At just under 10mm the new Sony 40” ZX1 Bravia LCD has reset the bar when it comes to ultra-slim TV display panels. The ZX1 uses Sony’s innovative Edge LED Technology which lights the screen from around the edge rather than from the back of the screen, as in a traditional screen, which accounts for the reduction in depth.

Sony ZX1 Ultra Slim LCD TVBecause the new KDL-40ZX1  is so slender and light it can easily be mounted on wall surfaces and can even be placed in ‘picture frame mode’ to act as a display screen when not in use.

No Cables

The ZX1 features Sony’s unique wireless technology and uses a separate media receiver which can be placed anywhere in the same room. The unit transmits the TV signal or other HD media including broadcasts from Blu-ray players or Playstation 3 direct to the screen without the need for extra cabling. Even the remote control can operate devices without having to be pointed directly at them, which is another handy feature.

Picture Perfect

The ZX1 uses the Bravia Engine 2 technology to deliver a picture quality unmatched elsewhere. Employing Sony’s unique signal processor and Motionflow 100Hz to improve an enhance every frame of the image signal the ZX1 displays both slow moving and high speed action with equal clarity that you will not find elsewhere.

The KDL-40ZX1 is expected to go on sale in the early new year and, as yet, no definite prices have been mentioned.
